  • Police issue warning about cold callers posing as officers

Norfolk Police are urging you to be vigilant against a scam that has been reported in the area.
The scam itself can take many forms but reports suggest that the scammers pose as undercover police officers stating there has been a report of fraud on the victim’s bank account, or that a family member has been arrested for assistance in an undercover police operation. Victims are taken by taxi to a location to withdraw a large amount of cash, which is later collected by a courier or person involved in the fraud. Report to police any concerns about a vulnerable person requesting immediate withdrawal of large amount of cash.
